Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Inshallah, tonight I will move with a convoy of 8 trucks from Peshawar to Torkham at the Pak-Afghan border. Around noon tomorrow, we shall cross into Afghanistan and make our way towards Jalalabad.

I thank you all for your kind donations which have made this possible. Now I need your prayers to ensure that things work out.

We are carrying flour (80,000 kgs), rice (20,000 kgs), red lobia (8,000 kgs), green tea (4,000 kgs), sugar (16,000 kgs), and ghee (12,000 kgs) having a combined value of over Rs. 20 million.

Pakistan’s border and customs control have assured their assistance, and Afghan Government officials will be present to receive the supplies across the border.

After delivering the supplies in Jalalabad, I will proceed to Kabul. I will visit the province of Samangan to set up an orphan sponsorship program, the Baghlan province, and possibly the province of Kunduz. There will be extensive traveling to assess further needs.

Next will be Ghazni, Zabul, and then Kandahar, where 21 long years ago, I had set up and ran a Gynecology ward. I will visit Helmand, where I was in the process of buying land for cultivation just before the war broke in 2001.

Lastly, I will visit the infamous prison of General Abdur Rasheed Dostum in Mazar-e-Sharif, where I was incarcerated in 1997 while attempting to assist Tajik refugees stranded on the Afghan-Tajik border.

There are a lot of memories I have to confront and trace the footsteps of friends who are no longer with us today.

I will keep you posted.
Once again, thank you for your help.
